2012 Prophecy: Ireland will win Euro

Euro 2012 is one of the biggest sport events we have this year. Instead of guessing what will happen to the existence of human being, I think we better focus to this cup! I had an interesting experience in guessing Euro 2004 and Euro 2008 champion. The year of 2004 surprised so many people because that year the Euro was won by a non-champion candidate team, Greece. In fact, before the competition even began I already thought that Greece would be the champion (see: poenjagw.blogspot.com in Bahasa Indonesia). I was not a person who knew nothing about soccer. At that moment, I knew exactly that many teams were statistically much more powerful than the Greek team. However, I was very confident because I saw the color of blue for 2004 and for some reasons I concluded that the color was represented by the Greek team (its flag or uniform). Definitely I had a strong belief that Greece would be the champion. And that's what happened later! At that time it was even hard for myself to believe it. Maybe that was just a very rare coincidence.

In 2008, I saw brown color. This time my prediction was missed because I misinterpreted the color. I thought Portugal was the one who would become the champion. It was unlike four years earlier however, I did not feel too confident of Portugal national team. It then turned on second thought, Portugal did not really represent the brown color. Spain was the one who has such color (in its flag and uniform). And eventually, Spain won Euro 2008.

I saw green color for this year. I am convinced that it is Ireland which represents the color and so it will become the European champion. Of course, this is so crazy for many people. But remember that anything can happen in soccer. It has been proven in 2004 when almost no one knew Greece would come out as the European champion Greece. Moreover, Ireland is not a bad team at all. The team has many players who play in the English Premier League. It will compete in Group C with defending champion Spain, Italy, and Croatia. They are all difficult opponents.
